Where: Millhopper Branch Library, Meeting Room A (3145 Northwest 43rd Street Gainesville)
Our next meeting has some exciting things on the agenda!
- Recently, several of our members attended the Reason Rally in Washington D.C. In spite of inclement weather, they were in good company with thousands of other non-believers to represent the Humanist Society of Gainesville. They’ll be sharing their experiences with the group, and we will also be watching and discussing Richard Dawkins controversial speech.
- Those who have signed up to be on our email list were recently invited to complete a survey. The survey will close on Sunday, April 15th, with results to be shared at the meeting. If you’re on our list but haven’t completed the survey, please do so soon! It only takes about 5 minutes, and we’re making plans around your input!
- We’ll also be discussing our newest community service project – a group blood drive! Be sure to let us know if you’d be interested in participating in this great cause for our community (one atheist can save three lives!).
- Speaking of community service projects, don’t forget to bring your contribution for the Food4Kids Backpack Program. Non-perishable, individual items (mini-cereal boxes, granola bars, juice boxes, macaroni and cheese, small cans, fruit cups, etc.) are great – but fresh fruits and veggies are welcome and needed too! Food4Kids picks up our donations on Thursdays following our meetings for distribution on Fridays. Monetary donations are also a huge help!
